Dance Styles

Tai Chi Qigong Shibashi is a gentle and flowing exercise that comprises of 18 movements.  The rocking motions and stretching movements gently massage the internal organs, stimulate the energy meridians (used in acupuncture and acupressure), move the major joints, and improve breathing, circulation, balance and digestion.  These movements are suitable for practice by anyone, regardless of age, and can be done seated or standing. 

Zumba is a dance fitness program created by dancer and choreographer Alberto "Beto" Perez in Colombia during the 1990s. The program combines international music with dance to make exercise fun! Zumba classes use music based on salsa, merengue, cumbia, reggaeton and other international music styles and forms. 

Lindy Hop/ Swing Dance is a street dance that evolved in Harlem, Manhattan, New York in the swing jazz era of the late 1920s - early 1940s. With its roots in Charleston and African dance, this infectiously fun partner dance is enjoying a huge international revival - become part of the fast-growing Bristol swing dance scene now!  

Pilates  is a body conditioning routine that helps to not only build flexibility, but also strength, endurance, and coordination. The Pilates method seeks to increase the strength, flexibility and control of the body.  

Krav Maga is an eclectic hand-to-hand combat system developed in Israel that involves striking techniques, wrestling and grappling. Krav Maga has a philosophy emphasizing threat neutralization, simultaneous defensive and offensive maneuvers.Click to add text, images, and other content.

African Dance. Traditional pan African dance. Suitable for all levels

BalFolk Dance. A series of workshops introducing 'balfolk' dancing - traditional couple and circle dances from Brittany and Central France. Come and learn how to dance a mazurka, a hanter-dro, scottische, bourrée and more! Accompanied by live music, no need to bring a partner, flat smooth-soled shoes are best.
