History: Constructed in 1881 the building has had many uses over the years including church hall, commercial units, boys club and most recently (until 2007) the busy 'Holy Cross' Social Club. The building is undergoing a gradual refurbishment to reveal the fine architecture of the original building despite bomb damage in the war.

Recent Developments:
It was acquired in 2007 by The SouthBank Exchange (formerly 'Dancequarter'), a loose collective of dance-teachers. promoters, artists and musicians with many years of experience in promoting high quality and accessible events and festivals
. The Exchange were dance consultants for the Aardman/Spielberg collaboration 'Chicken Run' and have been instrumental in bringing many high energy dance-based festivals and events to the city including the first Harbourside Festival Dance Stage and Bristol Dance Festival from 2002 -2005.

Current Programme: The club retains much of its original flavour but is currently being re-developed to include a new programme of live music, dance - classes, markets, cinema-club, festivals and community events alongside the regular skittles nights and Sunday night sing-a-longs.
